Thank you to all of you that participated in this meaningful event.You helped save a life by donating blood in honor of our son, Matthew.

26 people registered to donate blood that day and we collected 16 pints!! 16 people who registered were first-time donors! It was a good turnout. We appreciate everyone who participated. The blood donated will benefit up to 48 people!! That is 48 people who will receive a beautiful gift.

Matthew was diagnosed in pregnancy with a rare congenital disorder that cause his kidneys to fail before he was born. He underwent two surgeries in utero and 9 surgeries in the first 5 months of life. He (and his twin sister Callia) are now 2 1/2 years old.

Matthew has had 13 surgeries since he was born and he has been on dialysis since he was 2 weeks old. He has received numerous blood transfusions and is expected to need many more.

We held this blood drive in honor of Matthew to help him and so many other children of the Coachella Valley that are needing a necessary blood transfusion.
